    A tooth count off of the flexplate would be necessary. This starter fits 168 tooth flex plates.

    will starter part # 555-10060,fit all all small block 283 stock engines.automatic or 3 speed transmissions? I have a 1957 chevy belair with a stock 1976 ,283 engine,with a 3 speed standard transmission.
