JEGS Max Box for GT-40 Manifold Base

The overall dimensions are: 6-3/16'' H x 7-3/8'' W x 15-3/16'' L and in most cases will fit under a stock hood. It all depends on the motor mounts (the engine settles on old mounts and typically raises with solid or high durometer replacements) and/or if the vehicle has previous front end damage. Regardless of these facts it is always the wise choice to check the hood clearance, without exception, otherwise damage may occur. If there is an interference issue, in most cases, you may need to just trim or notch the cross brace on the underside of the stock hood. If you add a phenolic spacer of any type you will need a cowl hood for clearance.
JEGS Tech Tip: OE (original equipment) motor mounts for vehicles equipped with a convertible top are shorter (therefore the engine sits lower in the chassis and gains additional hood clearance) than OE motor mounts for vehicles equipped with a hardtop (coupe or hatch). Aftermarket motor mounts vary in height and make no distinction between convertible and hardtop models.
