Rated 4 out of 5 by from Installed on a 78 corvette. Really nice for the cost. There are three items I wish would be added to this. The first is a torque value for the drain bolt. There is no information given in the box. The second is really needed. The perimeter bolts where the linkage hooks up needs to be longer due to the plate of the linkage assembly. I ended up going to Lowes and getting some longer hex head bolts to make this work. The third would be if the pan can be recessed back or indented somehow where the linkage mount is installed. It's very tight and if there was some additional room there would be play with the mount.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pan cracked I bought this pan last year and just got around to installing it. I went for a drive last weekend first drive of the year. I got home and the car smelled of burning oil I checked underneath and found the transmission pan covered in oil. To further inspection I found that the pan had a big crack in it. Maybe look at other pans.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Excessively Leaked Don't let the nice appearance of the pan fool you. We received one for a 71' C-10, and although the pan's appearance was nice, the minute it was installed and the vehicle was running the pan started puking transmission fluid. We thought we just might had received a bad gasket, so we put in a new gasket. Started the truck up, had the same exact issue. This time installing a third new gasket, and even applying silicone, started the truck up, and it started puking again. Put on another pan, and didn't have a single drop of fluid. Save yourself the time, and choose a different pan.

Does this gasket require gasket sealer? If so, what kind?

    Asked by: RUski
Nothing is required but it is never a bad idea to use a little edelbrock gasgacinch.
