Rated 3 out of 5 by from Experience Based Review, 18 Month/7000 Miles Vehicle Specs: 1937 Dodge D5 4 door sedan, Gen I SBC, GM Metric Front Calipers, 9.5x2 1971 Malibu 12 bolt rear drum brakes, PV2 block, 3/16 lines. It works. Took a lot of work to get it there but I finally have high firm pedal, good modulation, no pulsation, good pressure, fantastic stopping power. Here's what you might want to know. Brake pedal arm is long and comes in at at 6.5 to 1 ratio. Perfect for manual brakes, terrible for power boosted brakes. Redrilling the arm to 4.5 to 1 and tilting the master cylinder down and/or installing a dog leg push rod is required. I finally got the height, stroke and firmness correct with a dog leg pushrod to keep the booster push rod entering straight and true from the pedal. Bolt that secures pedal arm to bracket is 3/8" OD. The holes in the dash bracket and through the bushings are closer to 1/2". Its easier to thread a new pedal arm shaft than to try to bush everything. If you don't bush it, pedal arm waggles to the left and right and the cross bolt moves forward and back in the bracket holes when ever the brake is applied....all this "slop" makes it very difficult to establish pedal free travel and to get a good feeling and precise brake action. The 7" dual booster is a space saving blessing but really wants at least 21" of vacuum. My engine makes 18" at idle and while brake performace was adaquate, a gm style vacuum pump in parallel with manifold vacuum (switched to 21") really gets this booster working nicely. Booster pin for pressing in the master cylinder piston....it was missing. Its metric thread even though the rest of the kit is SAE thread. Made up an adjustable booster pin and found out it was best to adjust the clearance with full vacuum on the diagphragm.....you see, when vacuum is applied to this booster, the pin moves into the piston. I found the best setting of the pin to piston was just touching at full vacuum. Probing the Master Cylinder compensation ports with a bread tie wire ensured that the piston was returning far enough to allow fluid flow back up into the chambers upon releasing the brake. Overall, it works but.....I wouldn't do it again. In fact, I'd probably just purchase factory master and booster and fabricate the pedal and brackets from scratch to eliminate all the variables up front.
