    Manufacturer's Part Number:

%#%&#!!! Now you've done it. You've cross threaded your spark plug hole. Now what? Do you really want to spend your time pulling the head or risk installing a HeliCoil or some other threaded insert?

If only you could access the good, clean threads on the bottom of the hole without having to pull the cylinder head......

Well now you can! The JEGS Back-Tap's collapsible design allows it to engage the good threads by sliding down past the spark plug hole threads into the chamber. A mandrel is then drawn back, expanding the tool's threaded area and allowing you to get a good start on clean threads. The damaged threads will be gently straightened out and all debris and filings will stick to the JEGS Back-Tap, coming up and out instead of falling into the chamber. Why spend hours pulling the cylinder head when you can use the JEGS Back-Tap and be done in minutes?

    80595 is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life Saver - No joke This is a brilliant tool. I had it overnighted to me because I was in a serious pinch. Ran it thru 4 or 5 times and the spark plug went in like new. Literally worth every penny, even the extra $25 to have it express shipped. I would rather buy this tool 5 times over than to have to rip the motor apart, without question.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use! I bought this a month or so ago to repair the threads on my wife's 07 Tahoe. Got my Brisk spark plugs the other day. I thought it would take a while to repair the threads but it only took a few minutes to do the repair. It's very easy to use and work great. After four passes, (a little at a time) my threads were as good as new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved the day! Took just two passes, using the directions, to completely open the damaged threads. No need for the extra time, work and money of pulling the head. Do need to use grease and not cutting oil so any chips are heald on tool and pulled out.
