    Billet and Pro-Billet share the same features except the base. Billet models have Dupont Rynite glass-reinforced bases; MSD Ignition Pro-Billet models have aluminum bases.

    Billet Aluminum Housings made in CNC mills form flawless flex-free components that are accurate to within .001" without weak spots or porosity.

    Maintenance-Free Magnetic Pickups trigger MSD ignitions (except crank trigger models). Mounted to the distributor base, the pickup plugs directly into an MSD ignition control & a trigger signal is produced as the shaft-mounted zinc-plated reluctor passes by.

    Shaft & Ball Bearing Guides: MSD polished steel distributor shafts receive a QPQ coating that reduces friction and resists corrosion. Each shaft is guided accurately by a sealed ball bearing located at the top of the housing. At the bottom, an extra long sintered bushing controls the shaft. This combination spins smoothly and delivers consistent sparks even in a 10,000 RPM racing environment.

    Adjustable Mechanical Advance: MSD's adjustable mechanical advance assembly allows accurate modification of the advance curve to match a specific application. The advance plate is stamped and machined from chrome moly, weight pins are staked then TIG welded, and both receive a corrosion-resistant QPQ coating. Nylon bushings are installed to ensure smooth weight movement as centrifugal force advances the timing. The advance assembly is mounted on top of the distributor for easy-to-access adjustment. Three sets of advance springs and four stop bushings are included to set up 24 curves.

    Pro-Billet Ready-to-Run Distributors are ideal upgrades for outdated and/or bulky systems, and they couldn't be simpler: drop one in, connect three wires, and fire up the engine. They come equipped with a gray tach output wire which will trigger a tach or an aftermarket EFI system. Also included is an adjustable Rev Limiter. Their ignition module creates a powerful inductive spark that improves fuel mixture combustion for quick starts, smooth idle, and great performance.

    Compatibility: Except Ready-to-Run and OE models, MSD distributors require an MSD ignition control.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from MSD Pro-Billet Distributor for Ford BB I purchased an MSD Distributor 8477 for my 351C and it worked great so when I needed a new distributor for a 460 BB I was building, I purchased another 8477 Distributor. They look great and are easy to tune and the one that I already have is very reliable. I am running a roller cam in the BB so I also needed to swap out the iron gear that comes stock and replaced it with an MSD Bronze gear. They recommend sending the distributor in to have the gear replaced but I was able to do the replacement with no problems. You just need a small gear puller and a drill with an 1/8" bit. It only takes about 20 minutes to do.
