    9606 is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 67 Mustang This starter fit my 67 Mustang perfectly it’s a 428 with Hooker supercomputer headers. Being able to clock the starter made all the difference. Starts like a champ now!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from fits with headers 69 390 Fe The starter is made well , I was suprised at how quiet it is no grinding sounds seems perfect mesh for a 184 tooth flexplate , also it fit with my Patriot Headers H 8406 FE 390. 5 stars would be given if the battery cable connection was more easy to get to but not impossible , only if it was on the opposite side but it's facing the engine block . I ground down some of the housing with a flap disc to turn it more to clear the headers or the housing would hit the eng block , Pros , fits with headers , light , quiet and strong, nice design detailed instructions . Cons , you cannot clock it very much if using Headers , battery connection facing eng Block

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn’t fit 390fe with aftermarket headers Purchased this starter with the belief it would fit my 1971 F250, 390fe. Comments mentioned it would fit even with larger headers. It did not so I returned it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works great, If you can get it to fit! Much smaller than the original FE starter and more space away from the headers but it doesn't fit well. The electric motor hits the engine block below the starter hole. I had to do a lot of grinding to make it all fit. If you aren't "crafty" and don't want the extra work, don't buy this one!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Starter gear won't retract. I bought this starter because I installed Hooker competition headers and the stock starter would no longer fit. The Powermaster Master Torque starter is easy to clock and install, but when I went to turn the engine over it made a grinding sound. The engine did crank over but the starter gear is stuck against the fllywheel and the starter gear will not retract. It's a good thing this is a restoration and there is no fuel in it yet or it would've destroyed the ring gear or starter had it started. The engine I installed it on is a 352 Ford FE with a manual 3 speed transmission.
