Free-flowing and mandrel-bent X-pipes are made from 409 stainless steel for years of durability and performance. V8s fire unevenly and exhaust exits in pulses rather than in a steady flow, this causes one pipe to be filled with pressure while the other is pressureless. Connecting the two pipes in a Siamese pattern allows pressure to be released to the other side. This action allows the exhaust to pass through the pipes quicker, and this improved "breathing" increases horsepower.
