Really surprised
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this a month ago and wanted to use this for taking off clumps of paint and loose rust and boy oh boy was I surprised, it worked amazing and the locking screws held the descaler in place nicely and the pistol grip was comfortable . If you need a descaler I will recommend this to you

Heavy Duty Performance
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This needle scaler met my expectations and then some.
It's a beautifully created and finished tool, the quality is evident as soon as you get it in your hand.
The needle attachment is easy to connect and is replaceable, so as your needles wear out you can buy a new set and continue using the set. As with any air tool, you will need to oil it before each use, and you should always err on the side of 'too much oil' as opposed to too little. If you over-oil the tool, the excess is simply blown out. If you under-oil the tool, things burn out. Oil is cheap, use it and use a lot of it.
The tool seems adequately strong and was busting off chunks of rust very quickly with very little effort required from the user.
Please use eye and hearing protection and wear some heavy duty gloves when operating something like this, it's powerful, loud, removes chunks of materials at high speeds, and I suspect it would not be very forgiving to skin.

Impressive Power!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Sunex Needle Scaler and was excited to try it out immediately. My initial impressions of the scaler is that it seems well built, has some weight to it, and fits comfortably in my hands with or without gloves, though I do wish there was some sort of gripping texture on it or knurling. I have a large stainless steel grill but the pan below the burners is a mild steel that has started to have some significant rust develop across most of the surface area on both sides of the pan. To prolong the life, I removed the burners and was able to remove the grill pan. I fired up my compressor and began using the scaler on the pan! The vibration is as expected but the power was very good and removed all of the heavy rust with ease! It left a great clean surface without any trouble areas and I was then able to chemically remove the micro rust and apply a rust preventative. Good as new and this did way better and faster job than anything else would have in my shop. Next up was a rusting frame on a cheap trail rig. I had coated it in a underbody rust proofing years ago but some rocks I’ve scraped over have exposed the bare metal which resulted in rust. I climbed under the vehicle and blasted away both the rust and surrounding rust proofing without too much of a hassle and was ready to reapply a rust preventer over the bare metal.
I’d love it if the tool could be a bit smaller with the same amount of power. If it was able to fit in smaller spots I could have repaired my grill by only having to remove the burners instead of having to drill out the rivets and then removing the fire pan. If it was smaller I could have avoided this step but couldn’t complete the rust removal due to the size of the tool if the pan remained in the grill. On the trail rig it wasn’t a problem because I can climb under it without an issue due to its height. Either way, this thing ROCKS! Plenty of power and the needles seem to have a pretty tight pattern which reduces the need to go over the same spots multiple times to get those tiny flecks of rust that it missed on the initial pass.
My only concern with this scaler is that the trigger is plastic. I wish it were metal as I could see it easily getting snapped off it if were to fall or smash against something in a tool bag. Other than that, this is another quality tool from SUNEX!

Solid construction, well balanced.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this tool about a month ago and have been using it to clean up the accumulated rust and debris from the frame rails of my 1967 GTO. It has made the job easier and go faster than I estimated. This was definitely the tool for the job.
