The OAC competition Vertex Magneto is compact, lightweight, self-contained and operates at ignition distributor speed (one half engine speed). Vertex is entirely independent of the battery, generating its own high-tension alternating current. The sophisticated design incorporates an internal coil, and there's no complicated installation. The magneto goes on the engine in the same manner as the battery ignition distributor (no engine modification necessary). The Vertex hand-cranked engines eliminate the need for a battery, coil, alternator, starter, regulator, and associated wiring... all at a substantial savings.
