Engine valves are one of the most stressed components found in an internal combustion engine. At temperatures up to 1472 degrees, hot exhaust valves can strike the valve seat more than 70 times in a second and must withstand the hot and corrosive exhaust gases that flow around them. MAHLE valves have reinforced seats, are hardened, and can be chrome-plated or nitrided depending on the application.
