    Header Bolts

    ARP manufactures premium grade bolt kits to facilitate installation of exhaust headers in both stainless steel or black oxide (8740 chrome moly steel). The Stainless 300 material is not affected by corrosion or extreme heat, making it ideal for the application. What's more, the compact 12-point nut version lets you easily slip a socket close to the pipe. Each ARP bolt kit includes the specific number of parts for your application, plus premium-quality washers and hex or 12-point nuts, as required. Both the black oxide finished chrome moly and stainless steel are rated at 170,000 psi. Specially drilled ''NASCAR'' models available for those who wish to safety wire their header bolts to prevent loosening.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought these header bolts because the ones that came with the headers I purchased looked sub-par to the quality of the headers themselves. Considering the money I invested in a set of top-end stainless headers that I had ceramic coated, I wanted top-end fasteners to complete the job. These header bolts squeezed down on the header flanges evenly and produced a leak free fit. I used a 10mm 3/8 five point socket and an extension to reach all six bolts on a GM Generation IV LSX. Usually it is my experience with headers that at least one bolt cannot be hit with a socket, and you need to 'guess-ta-mate' the ft/lbs torque with a wrench. Polished stainless will stay looking like new forever as well. You get what you pay for as with most things in life.
