Engine Break-In Procedure
Use conventional or break-in oil (non-synthetic) for the first 600 miles of operation. Do not drive for long periods at any single speed, always vary your speed. Do not tow a trailer or put other heavy loads on the vehicle. Check the engine oil and coolant levels daily.
At 600 Miles change the engine oil and filter using conventional (non-synthetic) oil. Check fuel and ignition settings; adjust valves (where applicable).
After the first 5,000 of service synthetic engine oil may be used. Follow your vehicle owner’s manual for service intervals.
Specifications:
Can I order this motor with specific head and block casting numbers? There are some castings that have larger or smaller valve sizes, like teuck heads have larger valves and less issues, and can I get it without the cam and lifters to use my own new set?
I know the overview says that the atk re manufactured engines are built to o.e. hp but there are different ratings through the 70's. What is the hp rating of this engine?
can you give more specific details about the engine? cam type, compression ratio, est horse power, has the engine been run at all for defects etc.?
