Advance Adapters 50-0500 Features:
- On all Jeep vehicles that were equipped with the AMC TH400 and Dana 20 transfer case, this adapter kit is designed to replace the original Jeep adapter. The factory adapter assembly is considered weak and prone to breaking. The individual components of our kit will not work with the stock Jeep adapter parts.
- The adapter material is 356 T-6 heat treaded aluminum alloy. The adapter will retain the original Jeep transmission mount and is identical in length. The adapter kit includes a adapter housing, new 15 teeth coupler shaft, bearing, snap rings, gaskets, seal, fastening hardware, and adapter instructions.
- The history of Jeep using the TH400/Dana20 pre-dates back to 1966 when Kaiser Jeep used this combination behind the 327 Vigilante in their Jeep Gladiator trucks. Jeep would also use this combination behind other engine applications including the Buick V8 and eventually AMC V8s.
- Jeep TH400 transmissions had 2 different rear bolt pattern clocking orientations. The 50-0500 kit was designed to compensate for a 4-degree rotational difference on the rear bolt pattern of the AMC TH400. This kit will work for the earlier (non-rotated bolt pattern) Jeep TH400 applications; however, this will cause the mounting foot of the adapter to be askew, therefore requiring the addition of washers for proper cross member mounting.
