    Hello, for this carbureted engine and oxygen sensor is not needed. For the BP3961CTF , EFI version, one oxygen sensor is needed.

    Will the 396 use a 2000 rpm holeshot converter?

    Hello, you must use a torque converter with 2000 - 2400 rpm specs. For your specific application, you will need to talk to the converter manufacturer and they may ask for the cam specs for the engine, which you can see under the engine description.
