Less Weight, More Power
The X head is the best of both worlds: 18° horsepower, no expensive shaft mount rockers or offset lifters required. It offers a dramatic horsepower gain over 23° cylinder heads, ideal for budget-minded racers who want to go faster. Other advantages are raised 245cc intake ports that flow over 320 cfm out of the box, 68cc combustion chambers, and 2.140" intake/1.600" exhaust valves.
For drag or oval track racers who want lightweight heads that make a significant horsepower difference, Track-1 heads have thick decks, 221cc intake ports, 67cc combustion chambers, 1.600" exhaust valves, and 10° steel retainers. They are nitrous-compatible with installed phosphorous bronze valve guides and hardened valve seats for unleaded fuel. Spring pockets must not be cut more than 1.550".
Designed as a step above Track-1 heads, an additional 20-25 horsepower may be gained with Track-1X heads. They feature 222cc intake ports that flow over 285 cfm and exhaust ports that flow over 195 cfm both at .700" of lift, 68cc combustion chambers, 40/60 valve spacing, and 2.100" intake/1.600" exhaust valves. Track-1X heads require a T&D Economy or Jesel shaft system.
CNC-ported to ensure maximum consistency between each intake and exhaust port, Track-1 CNC heads have 215cc intake ports, 68cc combustion chambers, 2.080" intake/1.600" exhaust valves, and 10° steel retainers. The exhaust ports accommodate a standard Chevy pattern only yet no special components are required.
