Lightweight Flywheels Because factory flywheels are so heavy and large in diameter it takes immense amount of power just to get it rotating. To rotate a factory flywheel from 1000 to 6000 rpm can take as much as 40 horsepower! That same application with an aluminum flywheel takes less than 15 horsepower. Fidanza's Aluminum Flywheels are made from 6061 T6 aluminum. The friction surface is an incredibly strong 1050 steel attached with grade 8 button screws. These flywheels can be used with any type of clutch material. The ring gear is also made from 1050 steel and is heat treated for durability. Fidanza designs and builds flywheels with extreme precision.
