FAQ
What should my water temp gauge read?
- An optimal water temp gauge reading is typically between 195°F to 220°F, depending on the engine and environmental conditions. It's crucial for monitoring engine temperature.
How do you test an electrical water temperature gauge?
- To test an electrical water temp gauge, use a multimeter to check resistance across the sender terminal. Compare values at different temperatures against gauge specifications.
What is water temp gauge for?
- A water temperature gauge measures engine coolant temperature, alerting drivers to overheating. It aids in preventing engine damage and ensuring optimal performance.
What is a capillary temperature gauge?
- A capillary temperature gauge uses a capillary tube filled with a temperature-sensitive fluid to measure temperature, often seen in some older vehicles for coolant temperature.
Specifications:
If I use this gauge on a 305 small block, am I able to plug this into my stock coolant temp sender that goes to my factory water temp gauge? Or, do I have to use the sender provided.
Do these Jegs 2-1/16" gauges use 168/194 bulbs? I want to use these together with the matching 3-3/8" tach and it said to use led # 555-41210 in the 2-1/16" gauges, but doesn't show up when I search for it.
