    The Pertronix Ignitor III is the most advanced points replacement kit yet. It is literally an ignition box inside your distributor. It features multiple sparks throughout the entire RPM range and a high resolution REV limiter accurate to +/- 50 RPM which is set by the user. The Ignitor III module generates 5 times more spark than points. This of course means more spark energy creating more horsepower and better mileage.

    Features:
  • Adaptive dwell maintains peak energy throughout the entire RPM range, reducing misfires while improving engine performance
  • Peak current level is reached just prior to spark for maximum energy without the heat build-up, increasing coil performance and module reliability
  • Adjusts spark timing at higher RPMs to compensate for the inherent electronic delay
  • Senses startup and develops more energy for quicker, easier starting
  • Senses crank orientation from either the distributor cam lobe or a PerTronix magnet sleeve

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from lasted 15 minutes I installed it it started up and ran went around the block came back and before I got back it died would not start back I had to put the points back in i called Jegs told me to send it to them and they issued me a refund .

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependable! I've been running Pertronix in my 52 truck for 13 years with no issue. We just bought the 60 Buick and Pertronix 3 was one of our first upgrades. Fires right up, runs strongly, and no points to set. A non-issue for most Jegs' customers, with the Buick distributor in the back don't plan on removing old wire & grommet and installing new without removing the distributor. So much easier to do it on the bench.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple Very simple to install and program, although I wouldn't recommend trying to do it without removing the distributor because of the very small screws. A great part for an old hot rod that I want to keep looking just like it did forty years ago.
