Cool as Ice
Keeping it cool is one of the keys, and Royal Purple - Purple Ice is the king of cool. Purple Ice is a high performance, synthetic, radiator coolant additive. It reduces engine heat by reducing the surface tension of the radiator fluids for improved heat transfer. Purple Ice also helps to prevent the formation of scale deposits in the radiator for optimum coolant flow, and it lubricates the water pump seals. Purple Ice should always be used in conjunction with antifreeze in regions where freezing temperatures occur. Purple Ice is compatible with traditional ethylene glycol antifreeze (green) and GM Dex-Cool® antifreeze.

When using Purple Ice with an antifreeze / water mix, Royal Purple recommends adding 1 ounce of Purple Ice per quart of cooling system capacity. For straight water (racing) applications, Royal Purple recommends adding 1.5 ounces of Purple Ice per quart of cooling system capacity.

JEGS Easy Kits are designed by JEGS high performance racing professionals to help you get all the performance parts you need for your race car, hot rod or truck.

01600 - Royal Purple Radiator Coolant Additive is rated 4.133333333333334 out of 5 by 15.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purple Ice Works as Advertised Purple Ice, is fantastic. Our 1988 Jag XJSC is notorious for overheating. The 12 cylinder aircraft engine puts out serious heat and takes up every square inch of the engine compartment, so cooling is tough. When we're in heavy traffic in hot weather I get twitchy watching the temperature gauge. Yesterday we added Purple Ice to the radiator before heading out. The temperature needle never moved off N and when we got home realized the fan wasn't running after we shut the car off. Normally it runs for about 20 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purple Ice Is Very Nice, Nice Baby! I first used this product 2 years ago after having problems with Prestone Anti-Rust additive, in which it was a thick, brown substance coming out of the bottle. Let's just say that after 10K driving with that goo in the radiator, the radiator hose was looking funny. Now back to Purple Ice. Before using it, the needle was hovering just slightly above the mid-way line of the temp gauge. After flushing the radiator and replacing the coolant, I added Purple Ice and drove my daily 90 mile round-trip work commute. The needle then hovered just slightly below the mid-way line and continued as such for 30K miles of driving until the next radiator flush & coolant change. I'm a firm believer that this product reduces the engine operating temperature and helps extends the life of the engine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from no major reaults found. I was truley disapointed in royal purple this time... mabe its just my truck (2001 dodge ram), but i have used one other product that is similar. Rather i should say this was similar to the product i was looking for. I have used redline water weter in the past. The parts house i used didnt carry it, instead they offered royal purple ice. Ive had fantastic results with water wetter, the proof showed on the dash. When added, it litteraly droped my temp needle 1/4. Royal purple version didnt even budge my needle. Now, im sure ice is fine as far as helping seals, and all, but it seams it didnt effect my tem whatsoever, wich was my intent. So for my personal intent, i have to give it a no go. Sorry guys... but this is not your strong suit... cant complain about your fabulous oils and lubes though, yall have it down to an art.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Engine has fewer noises, shifts smoother I used Royal Purple oil after draining to lubricate my work with my drill press one time. After several (many) minutes of attempting to drill through steel without success when using RP oil for cooling. It almost didn't leave a mark. I cleaned it up and used some new other brand synthetic and drilled right through. Somehow I feel that the drill pressed bit exerts more pressure per square inch than an engine rod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from cool as ice My car is a nor cal car and recently went to north Carolina all the way to Wisconsin and I used purple ice to help against the hot humid air. I can not say enough great things about this product. as other cars were overheating on the cruise mine was nice and cool. I even got some for my friend who was overheating then after using purple ice in her vehicle it no longer overheated!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performance you can rely on Shortly after purchasing my car I noticed the temp in the hot summer days got relatively high so I decided to try the purple ice and found it didn't matter how hot it got the temp always remained below the half line. Would definitely recommend using it especially if it gets really hot or if you have a spirited driving style
