Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellant product I've bought this product before and am happy with the performance. I use 10oz for 25 gal which raises cetane a good amount. The engine smoothed out and respone to the throttle is quicker. I used Kleen Diesel before and this is step up from that product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Max-Tane. Does it make any difference? While planning a multi-thousand mile trip, Max-Tane was recommended by a friend. He claimed better performance with higher mileage. I was very skeptical. I have an 05 Ram with 120,000 miles, a cat back and intake, and programmer. I was averaging 11 mpg towing 11,000lbs during shorter trips. I decided to give Max-Tane a chance, but wasn't expecting much. Not surprisingly, the first tank of fuel with Max-Tane did nothing. I noticed no positive effects whatsoever. Our third stop saw temps well below freezing, which meant smoke at startup after a cold night. My truck did indeed smoke, but noticeably less than before the Max-Tane was introduced. No other positive effects noticed. So we come to the third tank with Max-Tane. Fuel economy was now firmly in the 13 mpg range. I noticed no performance gains, but I wouldnt expect a small increase could be, even if it did in fact increase performance. What I did notice was quicker starts, with less smoke. Also fuel economy increased, but I can't say if it was the additive, or the fact that we were in colder, denser air. One strange thing I noticed was the smell of the exhaust changed. I can only describe the smell as similar to Elmer's wood glue. This remains, even after the Max-Tane was no longer in use. So in closing I can't say Max-Tane increased performance, but I do see faster, easier cold starts with less smoke, a slight increase in fuel economy, and exhaust that smells of wood glue.
