Sonnax 22171B-08K Features:
Sonnax extreme duty intermediate shaft kit 22171B-08K for Chrysler 47RE, 47RH, 48RE transmissions delivers the ultimate protection against breakage in high-power, competition vehicles. A unique combination of innovative engineering and quality manufacturing guarantee maximum strength and resistance to fracture in even the most extreme applications.
This shaft features many unique refinements available only from Sonnax. It’s torsional design that allows energy to be absorbed, reducing peak loads to critical areas, is calibrated to balance stresses in high-power competition vehicles. The cross-section area — typically the weakest part — is strengthened with larger rear spline major/minor diameters and by eliminating both the small diameter undercut and selective spacer. Front spline durability also is improved by eliminating the small diameter undercut.
For applications where a direct replacement upgrade is needed, Sonnax heavy duty intermediate shaft 22171B-HD is recommended.
Note: Installation requires machining the spline inner diameter of the overdrive planet carrier and overrunning clutch inner hub. See instructions for details.
