    VHT Engine Enamel is a unique formula of urethane resins that resist fading, harsh solvents, corrosion, and 550°F temperatures. No other air-dry coatings withstand the contents of today's cleaners & fuel as well as VHT. Factory engine colors available for restoration and customization.

    To Apply
  • Do not use in temperatures less than 70°F or on parts below room temperature
  • Thoroughly clean surface--remove all grease, oil, loose paint, and rust
  • Lightly sand any areas already painted, making sure to feather rough edges
  • Wipe parts to be painted with a tack cloth, carefully removing dust and debris
  • Primer is not required but you can spot prime as needed
  • Hold VHT can 12"-15" away from prepped surface
  • Spray enamel in one direction using long, steady strokes. Repeat in opposite direction.
  • Wait approximately 30 minutes before recoating--apply only enough to color surface evenly
  • Excessive application is unnecessary and will cause blistering and loss of adhesion
  • If touch-up is needed after 4 hours, light sanding may be required

    To Cure
    Whichever curing method you choose must be done slowly
  • Air: Enamel dries in 1 hour and cures overnight
  • Booth: Bake 15 minutes at 300°F then 30 minutes at 350°F (improves durability and resistance to salt spray, chemicals, and humidity)
  • Engine: Idle engine for 15 minutes and then let cool; idle engine again no more than 1 hour and let cool
  • Operation: The inherent heat output during operation of an engine or exhaust can cure the enamel
