What Are The Top Aeromotive Gen II Stealth Fuel Tanks?

The three most popular Aeromotive Gen II Stealth fuel tanks include designs fitting the 1970-1972 Chevrolet Chevelle and Malibu, 1978 – 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and Malibu, and the 1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro. For all three tanks, 200 LPH fuel pumps are included and the most popular size over the 340 LPH option, available for high-horsepower engines.

How Much Do Aeromotive Gen II Stealth Fuel Tanks Cost?

Stealth fuel tank pricing starts at around $500 and increases to around $700, depending on the vehicle application and fuel pump option.

What Are The Main Benefits of Aeromotive Gen II Stealth Fuel Tanks?

Purchasing and installing an Aeromotive Stealth fuel tank offers more than one advantage. The main benefit is having an in-tank fuel pump. This removes the need for a mechanical fuel pump on the engine in carbureted applications, and an external electric fuel pump, which can be noisy. Stealth fuel tanks also have baffles strategically placed inside to reduce the chances of fuel starvation to the fuel pump pickup. The connections are also the same as original equipment to simplify installation.

How To Install Aeromotive Gen II Stealth Fuel Tanks

Installation of a Gen II Stealth fuel tank begins with safely raising and securing the vehicle above the floor to provide room for the tank to be installed from underneath. The original fuel tank is removed, following the instructions provided in the shop or repair manual for your specific vehicle. The new tank is then ready to be moved into place and secured with fuel tank straps. However, the fuel and electrical connections need to be completed first as they are located on top. The ground wire for the sending unit and pump needs to be connected to a clean chassis ground for proper operation. A relay and fuse kit is required for proper fuel pump operation. In addition, a fuel pressure regulator is required, mounted as close to the engine as possible, for proper system pressure in either carbureted or fuel injected applications. A high flow fuel filter is also needed between the fuel pump outlet and the regulator. Aeromotive recommends -6 AN size feed and return lines to connect the fuel tank to the rest of the fuel system. Once all connections have been confirmed and the fuel tank is secured with the straps, the fuel pump can be turned on so that the fuel system can be checked for leaks. The fuel system pressure also needs to be adjusted to match the needs of the carburetor or fuel injection system. Once no leaks are confirmed, the vehicle can be lowered to the ground and the engine started to confirm proper operation.
