Every racing engine endures valvetrain breakage occasionally. This kit is designed to minimize the damage caused by such failures by keeping the debris away from the engine's rotating assembly and oil pump pickup. Special pre-formed screens are secured with high-strength epoxy over the oil holes in a small-block Chevrolet's lifter galley to catch metal fragments. Allen socket plugs are also included for installation in the valley, to direct the oil returning from the cylinder heads away from the spinning crankshaft, reducing windage losses and aiding oil control.
