Edge Products Innovation
In 1999, Edge Products set its sights on developing high performance electronic parts for diesel trucks. They soon began to make tuning products for gasoline powered vehicles as well as Jeeps. Electronic products include modules and programmers that increase performance or fuel mileage. Monitoring a vehicle's performance is also very important for safety reasons. Edge monitoring products display several engine and performance parameters.
Significant gains can be accomplished by using the correct Edge products. Increases in excess of 100 horsepower and 240 ft/lbs. of torque have been achieved on stock trucks. (See specific products for performance details and claims). Most Edge Products tuners provide engine and transmission alterations such as: Shift point and shift firmness, set rev limiter, horsepower and torque level settings.
Monitoring has become very important in performance applications. Monitoring capabilities vary depending on the Edge product. You may monitor these items: EGT, Boost, RPM, MPH, Percentage of Backdown, Engine Coolant Temperature, Engine Oil Temperature, Transmission Temperature, Intake Air Temperature, Gear, Load Percentage, Run Time, Percentage of Transmission Slip, Percentage of Throttle, Barometric PSI, Battery Volts and Torque Converter Lockup. Alerts can be set to sound for some items. Data-logging can also be set up on some Edge products for areas of performance.
