5836 - Belltech Muscle Car Lowering Springs is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stiff in the back, boaty in the front I have a 1985 Chevrolet El Camino that was originally a 4.3 V6, I installed the spring hoping to improve stiffness and control of the car and was not happy. The rear springs went in with ease and are very stiff but the front are just as boaty if not worse than stock, every speed bump I hit the suspension would bottom out . I have since swapped the V6 for a vortec 350 with an aluminum intake and accessory brackets and the suspension only has about and inch of travel before bottoming out. I got in contact with Belltech about this and they said the spring rate for the front is 450 in/lb consistent and that there is nothing they can do. I don't know if this is just me or if something is wrong with the springs as they are listed for a V6 or 305 V8. Definitely won't be buying from them again. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

When I bought my car, someone had none stock springs and it was jacked up with spacers. Know it will be lowered by one inch from stock, what actually is the height at the wheel opening can I expect?

    Asked by: Glen127
We cannot tell what the finished height will be only that it will be 1 inch lower the an the stock springs would make it .
