    Manual-to-Power Steering Box Conversions
In most cases, Borgeson Power Steering Box Conversions replace factory manual steering without modification to steering shafts and pitman arms. The GM Delphi 600 is used for power conversions, and represents the latest generation of power steering gearbox technology. The 600 offers mordern power steering feel and feedback.

    Power-to-Manual Steering Box Conversions
Manual Steering Box Conversion Kits can reduce vehicle weight by 28 pounds for more horsepower. Borgeson uses only the Saginaw 525 steering box because the Vega 140 box is inadequate for midsize cars.

036425 - Borgeson Steering Box Conversions is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't leak Bought two for two cars. At road speed it is just as sensitive as the stock ps. Which is difficult sense the ratio is much faster. I can't see the extra header clearance advertised as where the box is smaller the headers were not close. But, anything has got to help. I also bought the borgesson joint with dampener for steering column figuring it would offer more header clearance NOT. The hoses offered are nice. But, the high pressure is at least 2 inches too long. I called Borgeson about this and they denied there being a problem. Local NAPA fixed the hose for $15.00. I will try a non dampening joint on the other car. The rest works out. Box is a huge improvement over the original. It doesn't leak. With the right joint it should easily clear most headers. In my case I think that is better than the dampened coupling.
