Chevy 262-400ci Small Block 1955-98
For engines NOT originally equipped with a hydraulic roller camshaft.
*Note: In order to use these camshafts in 1955-57 265ci blocks, it is necessary to machine a small groove in the rear main journal of the cam to allow oil flow to the top of the engine.
**Note: Requires thrust button & wear plate.
Street/Strip applications, 9:1 compression ratio, intake, headers, 3000 stall converter, gears.
Operating Range: 2500-6000 RPM Duration Advertised: 288° Intake / 294° Exhaust Duration @ .050'' Lift: 236° Intake / 242° Exhaust Valve Lift w/1.5 Rockers: .520'' Intake / .540'' Exhaust Lobe Separation Angle: 110°
The Leading Edge of Valve Train Technology Comp Cams Xtreme Energy series can be used in any street or street/strip application where both throttle response and top-end horsepower is desired. These camshafts are designed to take advantage of the latest improvements in valve train components and the newest developments in camshaft design. Their aggressive lobe design produces better throttle response and top end horsepower than other cams with the same duration @ .050'' lift, while delivering increased engine vacuum. We do not recommend the use of stock valve train components with these camshafts due to the aggressive lobe designs.
Camshaft & Lifter Kits are indicated by a CL in their part number and include Camshaft and Lifters.
Complete Kits are indicated by a K in their part number and include Camshaft, Lifters, Timing Chain & Gears, Valve Springs, Spring Retainers, Spring Locks and Valve Springs.
Small Kits are indicated by a SK in their part number and include Camshaft, Lifters, Timing Chain Set, Assembly Lube, Decals, and Instructions.
