Comp Cams 4914 - Comp Cams Crankshaft Sockets Details
The Gen III Engine Crank Socket is specially designed to help rotate the crankshaft via the oil pump drive, using a 1-inch drive socket system. This uniquely designed tool attaches to the oil pump drive and incorporates a knurled retaining nut that holds your degree wheel in place when degreeing your camshaft. This retaining nut can be loosened while the crankshaft socket is still connected to the oil pump drive, so the degree wheel can be turned without rotating the crank.
When slipped on the end of a crankshaft, these specially designed 1/2" drive sockets allow you to rotate the engine assembly. These sockets also provide a great way to attach our Part 249-4790 or 249-4791-1 degree wheel to the engine. The unique design incorporates a knurled retaining nut that sandwiches the degree wheel and holds it in place. This nut can be loosened while on the crank snout so that the wheel can be turned independent of the engine when finding top dead center.
