  • The Hooker Headers LS Engine Swap Mounting Solutions for 2nd-Gen GM F-Body cars are finally here. This cohesive system of components has been engineered to provide an ideal 3 to 3.5 degrees of proper u-joint working/drivetrain angle required for serious autocross, street and resto-mod performance. Hooker has designed several specific header configurations that optimize the location of either 2.5'' or 3'' exhaust systems through the arched pass-through in the transmission crossmember. The new engine mounts bolt to existing clamshell style frame stands and two transmission crossmembers use stock or common aftermarket mounts to install popular LS automatic or manual transmissions!
    Use of any non-Hooker brand transmission crossmember or headers will have adverse effects on the ease of installation, component clearance, ground clearance and engine inclination angle (3° with Hooker engine mounts and transmission crossmembers) you can expect from your installation. With these components installed, your driveline will be purposely configured with compound U-joint angles, due to the chassis-centered alignment of your engine/transmission and the stock pinion offset of your rear differential.
    These brackets are designed to be used in conjunction with stock OE clamshell style engine mounts (as installed on all 1972-81 Camaro vehicles) that will be retrofitted into the swap vehicle through the use of the specially designed spacer plates included with this kit. The OE clamshell mounts and the long horizontally installed bolts used to secure them to the Hooker brackets are not included with this kit and will need to be purchased separately. In order to achieve the intended fitment and clearances of these components, it is highly recommended that new clamshell mounts (Anchor brand p/n 2292 or equivalent) be installed at the time of installation.

    Important Application and Installation Note
    These transmission crossmembers were specifically designed for compatibility with:
  • Hooker Headers LS engine swap headers 1970-81 Camaro
  • Hooker Headers exhaust systems (p/n 520-42503 or 520-42504)
  • Holley LS oil pan (p/n 510-302-2)
    and accessory drive components for 1967-69 Camaro (F-body)/1968-74 Nova (X-body) LS engine swap. Using ANY components other than what is listed here will result in misalignment and interference issues with these Hooker and Holley components.

    Engine Mount Features:
  • Installs onto stock 1972-up clamshell mounts without the use of adapter plates.
  • Fully compatible with Holley LS swap oil pan and accessory drive brackets.
  • Provides an engineered 3 to 3.5 degree engine/transmission inclination angle that is critical to obtaining usable U-joint working angles (especially in lowered vehicles) when used in conjunction with Hooker LS engine swap transmission crossmembers for this same application.

    Transmission Crossmembers Features:
  • Facilitates installation of a 4L60 (multi-piece case only)/4L65/4L70/4L75 GM automatic transmission behind an LS engine in any year 2nd-gen F-body
  • Facilitates installation of a T56 (GM F-Body/GTO LS versions only)/T56 Magnum manual transmission behind an LS engine in any year 2nd-gen F-body
  • Designed utilizing CAD modeling/FEA analysis for optimal fitment, strength, weight, safety and appearance
  • High-strength low-alloy steel construction
  • Provides an engineered 3 to 3.5 degree engine/transmission inclination angle that is critical to obtaining suitable U-joint working angles, when installed with Hooker 2nd-gen F-Body LS engine swap brackets
  • Designed in conjunction with Hooker 2nd-gen F-body LS engine swap brackets to provide bolt-in installation of Hooker LS swap manifolds, headers and exhaust systems for this application
  • Will install with either a stock rubber, or Prothane poly mounts - 311-7-1604 or 311-7-1604-BL
  • Provides the highest clearance available for up to 3" exhaust system routing
