510125 - American Autowire Classic Update Wiring Harness Kits is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rating Based Mostly On Support Experience I have this kit on a '66 Mustang. When I plugged in a relay and a fuse immediately blew, I started investigating. I'm an electrical engineer; I know what I'm doing. It turned out that all of the relays have pins 85 and 86 wired backwards. Pin 85 is supposed to connect to ground but instead is connected to +12V. Pin 86 is the reverse. It violates DIN standard 72552, which is the whole reason the pins are named 85 & 86. This will work with some relays, but not relays with a flyback diode. Diode relays are a good idea to protect a vehicle's electronics, so I use them. That's why the relay I had on hand was a diode relay. Add it all up, and that's why I blew a fuse on the Mustang. In case you're wondering, I later put in a regular diode and the circuit worked fine. American Autowire isn't the only manufacturer to make this mistake. I've contacted other manufacturers about it, and they've agreed and thanked me. American Autowire couldn't even be bothered to reply. I asked them to let me know if they agreed, but nope. It's just a sample of one, but my experience is that support for this product is nonexistent.
