CHC11ASK - Cold Case Aluminum Replacement Radiators for GM Cars & Trucks is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from 68 Camaro 396 still running hot after Cold Case After reading forums and extensive reviews of the cold case radiators I decided to give them a try. My car is a 68 camaro with 396 BB and sniper fuel injection. The previous radiator was an older aluminum 3 core with a single electric fan. I assumed that with the dual fans and manufacturers higher CFM rating that the fans work better. The car will run hot when sitting idling or in traffic, but there are no issues while driving which is an obvious fan / air issue. I have tried multiple thermostats and configurations, but the car still runs hot (up to 220 when I shut down). I am removing the electric fans from the radiator and going to a clutch style mechanical fan. While the radiator might be a good product, I cannot recommend these fans. I even tried giving the fans 12v from a separate source to see if the wiring or alternator was not adequate. However, I had the same overheating problem with the car idling. Whatever horsepower will be lost with a clutch fan is negligible as the car will not be overheating.
