    180 is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for mechanical fan delete! This was a replacement for another electric fan that sorta fit after I made my own brackets. Unfortunately, the motor for that fan burned up after I ran it in high speed mode, constant on for too long. The Flex-a-lite 180 was a perfect fit for the radiator in my 1957 Chevy 3200 pickup and the fan controller that was included does exactly what it is supposed to do. The fan comes on at the temperature I set and shuts back off once the engine is back at the desired temperature. The included brackets were perfect to shape to my needs and the included wiring and hardware was enough to complete the install. The CFM rating was lower than the high speed side of the fan it replaced, but I found that it wasn't necessary in my case anyway. This afternoon, after I finished installing the Flex-a-lite 180, I started my truck and left it idling in 90 degree weather. I have a 195 degree thermostat and normal driving temperature is 200-205 degrees. I set the fan to come on at 210, which it did, and in a minute, the coolant temp dropped back to 200 and the fan shut off again. I let it sit idling and the fan worked as it should every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great Best price for product I could find. Fast shipping. Works great for my 09 Colorado truck. So far all is working great, only installed for 2 weeks. My mechanic said install instructions not very helpful bc brackets need to custom fit to radiator housing but it is not just a bolt onto factory. Needs some customization. wiring was clear and simple to module and motor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product! Installed the Flex-A-Lite 180 electric fan on my 69' F-100, 360 cid... One of the best upgrades to date; I can now cruise in heavy summer traffic while maintaining water temperature of (195 F, max). Currently the thermostat opens at (165 F), cooling fan comes on at (175 F) and with (3,000 cfm of air flow) I can enjoy my truck without any added worries of melting down. Super simple kit to install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy install Mounting the fan was a bit tricky but I got it in there. Took me about 3 hours from start to finish. Works great!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy setup, fits my radiator nice and snug I had engine upgrades for more power which produced more heat. I had to upgrade my fan because my old one couldn't keep up on mildly warm days. This fan is quiet & easily lowered my radiator temperature by 10 degrees. I attached it using metal zip ties which allowed me to get it tightened down real good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Right on! This fan works/looks awesome. The kit is complete and the fan is of high quality. Keeps the mild 350 in my 77' corvette cool with ease.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from waste of money for me My 69 Firebird now runs hot when going around town and at highway speeds. At highway speeds the temp keeps climbing so i was better off with the factory fan at least at highway speeds it would cool off. I guess the shroud on this unit is restriction airflow.

Will this replace my mechanical fan on my 1996 Dodge Dakota with no cooling problems?

    Asked by: Jham
This is made to supplement the original fan. In many cases this can be used to replace the original fan, but each engine is different. You will need to experiment to see if it will work in your application.
