Approved for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Circle Track competition, Ford FR9 cylinder blocks are lightweight, compacted graphite iron castings built with 4-bolt steel main caps. They feature front engine plate mounting, crossflow cooling, special in-block oil feeding passages, a cast-in camshaft tunnel, and inner and outer piston squirter provisions. Cast-in water passages route coolant directly to each cylinder for improved cooling--and that's big in racing! Builder Notes: Semi-finished cylinder bores, main bearing bores and lifter bores - must be honed to final size; The FR9 engine is unique and does not share any components with previous 351 Windsor or Cleveland based engines.
