Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1990’s Mastercraft Boats need this! Solved the issue I had been chasing on my Mastercraft. Boat ran fine for hours until parked for an hour then wouldn’t idle. Fought this issue forever. Chased fuel filters, lines, pump, spark plugs, coil, distributor/rotor, etc...  This kit solved my problem. Fuel in carb was percolating/getting hot while setting under the engine cover. This kit resolved the issue instantly. Small mod on the edge for fuel line and throttle linkage bracket. Nothing that tin snips and a file didn’t take care of really easily. Just remember you’ll need 1/4” longer studs, or back out your existing studs 5 threads and loctite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solved my fuel percolation issue Easy install, fuel was percolating in bowls when parked after driving causing a flooding issue. Bowls stay cool to the touch now. All installation hardware was included.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Piece Easy to install. Required slight modification to fit on my 1973 Dart (cutting around throttle cable and vacuum connection at rear). Seems to help with vapor lock issues.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sheilds heat well I bought this when my Ford FE 427 motor started boiling gas and getting vapor lock. It does a good job of shielding the heat that radiates up from the intake and heats the fuel bowls. Turns out the gear on my new distributor didn't break in properly and my heat problem was the result of timing going out. Probably don't need it anymore but it looks decent and cooler is better so I'll probably keep it on the car. Gave 4 stars for appearance because "Top Front" is engraved into the metal which is helpful for installation but a sticker would do the same job and could be removed after installation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product Its a good quality product and easy to install, it took care of most of my vapor lock and fuel bowl boil problems. The only time I have an issue is when I sit in hot traffic too long and I get a slight stumble off the line But other than that It works great. Having a 427 stroker in a small 1967 Mustang makes it difficult to keep things cool but this heat shield does a good job. I would definitely buy it again and will recommend it to friends

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You may have to modify it, but it cuts easily with tin snips.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not totally universal This won't work on a ford engine running an HEI distributor. Need 1/2 inch trimmed off the front
