Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality I’m happy with this purchase. No mods needed. Fit like the original pan. Make sure when installing the tube that you push it in until it snaps into place. Solid pan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Learned by example I read the one review before I bought I bought this one, knowingly full well I could have the same issues.. Sure enough almost the exact same issues with me. Reused my pick up tube and made my own changes with bolt like putting a grinder to the bolt to shave a bit off of it. And grinder to the pan to shave a little off the wall. But afterwards all said and done I am still happy with this pan. This pan is the type that won't dent, but is the kind, if hit hard hard enough, by an unforeseen object would possible chip or crack it. The cork gasket gives mm concern how long it will last before it develops a leak.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice pan with a few faults. Overall I'm happy with it but there are a few things that should be addressed. The bolts included, they are 7/8" long and should be 1". This doesn't sound like much but translates to a 50% increase in the torque ability of the bolt into the case, 1/4" vs 3/8". This is especially important since most of these transmissions are 20 to 40 years old and the threads in the case are aluminum and worn from numerous rebuilds/repairs/fluid changes over the years. You need to use all the threads possible. I made a trip to the hardware store and found 1" Allen head bolts and used them. They come perfectly even with the top of the bolt holes in the case, just like factory. The bolt and spacer for the fluid filter are too long, the bolt hits the pan and doesn't allow you to tighten it. I used a different bolt and took the spacer to the grinder until it fit properly. The fluid pick up tube isn't as shown in the one picture. It has no positioning flange(s) to keep it properly centered in the corner like factory, but I doubt it will be a problem. The filter contacts the pan not allowing proper positioning of the pan. I took my new filter and bent it with pliers to give it room to fit without rubbing the pan. An easy fix. I'm picky, but I really like the overall quality of the pan. It seems to be cast heavy enough to take a lot of use/abuse, and the main thing is the sealing flange is cast thick enough so it will never warp. It seats perfectly to the case and with the high quality rubber/cork gasket included, I don't foresee any leaks, which was my main reason for buying the pan in the first place. The cooling fins are deep enough to possibly work and they didn't waste precious cooling area with any logo's. The magnetic drain plug is a plus but I'd rather have a copper crush washer than the nylon washer included.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Weak Packaging The pan is nice but the packaging was weak. Put some packaging tape on it next time. The skin shredding staples do a better job at slicing up your hands than they do at holding the box together.

No, this does not have the temperature sensor port in it. It does have a flat that can be drilled and tapped.

I'm running a Turbo 400 with a brake. It has the deep GM truck steel pan with the factory extension tube and spacer. Will the cast/finned Jegs pan #60179 fit in its place? I want to use the same filter-extension tube-spacer that I already have.

    Asked by: MarB 1973
This will come with a spacer or filter tube extension so if your current one doesn't work then you can use the ones that come with it.
