- This JEGS Performance Transmission has gone through rigorous testing to provide you with the best possible replacement transmission
- Here are a few tips to ensure a successful installation
- Follow the manufactures instructions thoroughly
- Before installation, flush any old fluid from your system, including transmission lines, oil cooler, and torque converter to remove any contaminants that could harm your new transmission
- When installing your torque converter, follow the instructions carefully to ensure proper fitment into the transmission input shaft and also attaching to your engine. Specific tolerances are required so that you do not damage the front pump in the transmission or the converter.
- This Unit only works in vehicles with a 13 Pin wiring harness connector
- Does not come with a shifter bracket
- This transmission includes the bolt-on bell housing to fit GM LS-Series engines (Pre-LS engines should use transmissions 555-603010 or 555-603015).
- 1996-2002 Camaro/Firebird must reuse their old 4L60 tail-shaft housing since this transmission does not include the special housing that has the mount for the torque link.
- This transmission can also be used in an older vehicle when converting to an electronically controlled overdrive transmission. The conversion to older vehicles will require the use of a transmission controller, crankshaft spacer, special cross-member, driveshaft changes, and other modifications (these parts are not included with the transmission).

Ordered my transmission torgue converter and 12 quarts of fluid I had my transmission in less than a a week I installed it yesterday.
I’ve only got 10 miles on it wait on tech to open Monday morning so I can get clarification on fluid level the instruction say to fill and read the dipstick like a normal transmission but the guy I order it from said to run it a quart low when hot

Good Transmission for the money
Installed this transmission a few weeks ago in my LS swapped ‘65 C10. Installation was simple, filled with Royal Purple Max-Shift fluid, and it worked great, shifted like it has a shift kit in it.
Then parked it in shop and 3 days later tranny fluid leaked onto the floor. Found that the pan was leaking badly, removed pan and could see that pan bolts ahead been over tightened at some point and had distorted the pan. Also found 2 pan bolts had bad threads. I was able repair. Jeg’s then agreed to ship me 4 quarts of fluid and a new pan gasket. The pan gasket it comes with is a cheap rubber one. I replaced it with a Fel-pro gasket. Overall I’m happy with the Transmission even though I had to do a little extra work. You can’t get one rebuilt for this price.

Wouldn't recommend
Got this to replace the 4l60 I blew in my Silverado. It arrived poorly packaged (it poked through the flimsy box it was packaged in), but I figured whatever, it didn't have any damage. Im happy it comes fully assembled with electronics and all, it made install smooth, paired the trans with a new oem torque converter. Started it up and it ran great until it hit the highway. After that it got a p1870 code. I plan to replace the valve body since I have a new fully assembled one in my garage. Hopefully that does the trick. Ive also noticed trans fluid seeping slowly out of the bellhousing access hole/dust cover. Should have bought a rebuild kit and rebuilt my existing 4l60, overall disappointed with this product for apparently being dyno tested and built to last. They should also package this MUCH better. The box it came in was a joke. Price is pretty average, but should reflect a product that won't have problems out of the box. Time to sort out this p1870...

Shift solenoid a
I really hate writing bad reviews. But I bought this 4L60E in Hopes to have my GTO back but now after installing. Trying to figure out what's going on with shift solenoid a for a P0753 code "shift solenoid a electrical" pretty bummed after installing to find out my car would still be on jack stands. Packaging was great and transmission looked great on the outside but its stuck in limp mode for now..

Transmission came with no speed gear
I bought this expensive transmission and it came with no speed gear and I spoke to 3 jegs employees and none of them could help me the last one I spoke to basically told me that this transmission came without it and the funny part is that it comes with a brand new speed sensor but no gear really disappointed I’m not a rude person all I want is a solution.
