    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasts a long time I have been using Mobil 1 in my vehicles for several years. It has proven to help keep my vehicles running smoothly. I switched to the extended performance when I had to replace my vehicles a few years ago. The newer vehicles are able to go more miles in between oil changes. I am comfortable going at least 7500 miles in between oil changes using the extended performance, whereas I would not exceed 5000 miles with the regular Mobil 1.

I had purchased a new vehicle in 2009 with a gasoline powered turbo direct injected engine and trusted my new car to another oil brand priding themselves as “the first in synthetics”. After about 90k miles I had to rebuild the cylinder head twice from burned exhaust valves from the newly discovered phenomenon of LSPI. Later discovered that Mobil 1 already met the requirements of SN Plus/SP rated oils where my previous oil did not. Should have just used Mobil 1 from the beginning as I did in all my other vehicles.
