Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best brake bleeding system out there I purchased this to bleed the brakes on my 41 Willys after completely replacing the front disc brakes and rear wheel cylinders.. My master cylinder is under the floor and fluid in the reservoirs is lower that fluid in the calipers and wheel cylinders. Impossible to bleed with normal procedures. I used this system to bleed and it works!!!! Also, the people at Phoenix Systems are very helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best way to bleed brakes I bought this because I could not get the air out of my brake system. I have long coiled brake lines up to master cylinder. Bleeding the conventional way didn't work. I used the phoenix system to back bleed from the wheel cylinders and disk calipers. This force the air up and out of those long coil brakes lines. Now my brakes are great again with a nice firm pedal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Phoenix Systems V-12 Pro Brake Bleeder kit I purchased this unit to bleed the brakes on my 41 Willys street rod after I upgraded the brakes. I have a cast master cylinder used by GM over the 70s thru *80s time frame coupled to a vacumn booster. My master cylinder is under the floor like many others. Bleeding the brakes is a major chore. Standard methods (push brake pedal while opening valve or applying vacumn to the bleeder valves) just won't work. This unit offers 3 different methods for bleeding. Reverse fluid injection where fluid is forced through the bleeder valve through the piping into the master cylinder, pressure bleeding where fluid is injected into the master cylinder ports out to an opened bleeder valve and standard vacuum bleeding. I used reverse fluid injection and pressure bleeding and I was able to bleed the air out of my brakes. This system works!!! I know of no other system out there that will bleed floor mounted master cylinders. But, I give this system just an overall good review as there are issues with the instruction manual and the device itself. The manual does provide good instructions but the inventory listing does not match the items sent. This is not a major issue as there are enough adaptors in the unit to bleed most systems out there. I just think they could do a better job of clarifying what all these devices are for. Confusing for first time users. Also, the injector itself is tricky to operate. Specifically, the squeeze handle is sticky which sometimes results in an air bubble being drawn into the unit when the handle draws back. This is the input stroke which draws fluid from the supply bottle into the injector. This stickiness sometimes pulls air into the injector cylinder. Just be aware of this while using the unit. If you squeeze all the way, you could inject air. I have spoken to the folks at Phoenix systems and can say they have been helpful.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It works but seems like a $59 not $200 tool set. The adapters and accessories are most useful. The plastic tool is really not worth $200. It does push or pull fluid but so does any tubing with much cheaper plungers/pumps. I also find it impossible so far to purge even the V12 of air. I understand and follow instructions despite this really being a basic concept that any science school kid could perform. There are always bubbles even when going from fluid container in a loop and back in to fluid. It never purges bubbles out the line. I may have made my lines worse with the V12. I used the top down bleed method simply pumping the master out the front lines and got better results. I always wondered why my mechanic never used a simple tool like this and now I know. It probably works perfect on non-ABS or some older type master cylinders. I am aware that my CR-V has some setup that might be more the problem than the V12 such as a steep angled master cylinder and other places for air to pool and then get compressed instead of purged. I will be testing the V12 on other vehicles and expect my updated to review to improve to 4-star or lower to waste of money or do not buy. One job may not be enough to judge but it seems like a childs toy to pretend being a real mechanic, sort of like an easy bake oven for a kid to pretend they are doing culinary art.
