    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Starter! I bought this starter to overcome the failed start of my 1969 Buick Electra with 430 CID engine with 10.25 CR. It may have been the original starter that lasted 150,00 miles. I was hoping for an improvement over a stock rebuild unit, so I purchased the Powermaster unit which listed a high temperature solenoid and larger armature from Jeg's. It arrived the very next day! It was in fact a direct replacement for my application. It includes a very nice hardware package. I was not expecting a significant weight increase; which I was able to support in place with a spare jack stand and hold to get the bolts started. An unexpected problem occurred when attempting installation of the electrical connectors since the studs were much larger. I was able to use a Dremel rotary tool to grind the holes bigger to the solenoid and resistor contacts. FYI these contacts were REVERSED from the standard GM sequence, including feedback from their tech department. In order to start the nut on the left side solenoid (hidden) connection, I used a piece of vacuum tubing for washer hose with 3/8 O.D. and 7/32 inch I.D. which I opened up, using a 6 inch length. It expanded to hold the nut securely, and released after first thread; and then wrench tight. The others were straight forward. It now starts amazingly fast! It would be as fast as a normal starter with no spark plugs! The pinion clearance to flywheel must be perfect. The best ever owned, way better than expected! It further seems the solenoid must have low electrical resistance as another advantage.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't Fit Car It said it Would Fit I bought this to fit a 1995 Z28 Camaro, and it wouldnt even fit in the bellhousing. So idk why thats on the listed of compatible vehicals b/c it sure didn't fit mine! First it wouldnt go thru the dust guard, so i took that off and tried, then it still wouldnt fit. So I'm returning it....My rating is for the incorrect fit, not the quality of the part itself (which I have no way of reviewing since it won't even bolt in)....
