Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not always just bolt in but worth it Just received this last week. Came in several boxes and was a bit intimidating. Just started the install last weekend on my 65 F100 frame. This will not be just a "bolt in" kit. After cutting the c-notch and fitting the frame rail you will notive the QA1 frame will not fit flush to the frame due to a bulge where the shock mounts were. They tell you all you have to cut is the C-Notch under the axle. Not in my case. Just in front of where you cut the c-notch, my frame has a bulge in the lower part of the frame, right where you have to remove 3 small rivets holding the shock support. Ford stamped it that way to add strength. I had to cut the shape of the bulge out as a triangle pattern. After I removed that piece, I made two slots along the bottom lip that turns inward. I then reshaped this triangle piece then re welded it back into it's original place (both sides). I ground the outside weld flush. This allowed the large frame piece to fit flush along the frame rail. After this....perfect fit except the rear hole did not line up with the frame hole. I had to elongate the frame hole there and the ones on the bottom to fit. Not a perfect fit but if you can cut and weld steel 1/2 way decent, this is great.
