    The Reid Racing Tailshaft Housings are designed to fit both the REID Superglide Cases and the stock GM transmissions. They are now available for both Powerglide and TH400 transmissions and are a great for high horsepower applications yet offer a solution to the shortage of weak OEM replacements. They are lighter weight yet five times stronger than stock and the roller bearing option frees up horsepower by reducing parasitic drag!

    Powerglide Tailshafts Feature:
  • Bolt in replacement - length and crossmember mounting flange is exactly the same as stock
  • Needle roller bearing transfers maximum horsepower
  • Triple lip seal
  • Spiral retaining ring to prevent bearing walk
  • Relocated vent puts an end to the problem of trans fluid spraying out of breather

    When using this tailshaft with the roller bearings, do I need a different yolk, possibly hardened, to avoid excessive wear??

    A different yoke will be needed as they need to be smaller in diameter.
