Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why wouldn't you use this?? My 1990 Jetta requires a battery that's no longer made. That battery had high CA and high CCA due to the high compression 1.8 liter 8 valve engine. The best battery I could find to replace the old style is the H7. That battery doesn't fit in the engine bay so I bought one of these, mounted it in the trunk, and ran a wire from a bus bar in the engine bay to the battery in the trunk. This thing holds the huge H7 battery firmly in place and protects it with the shock absorbing technology of this product. My car is lowered 3 inches so it was imperative to have a protective tray for the battery. This product is the perfect solution.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice, should be 14" wide to fit H8 batteries The box lists many battery sizes you can choose. Group 31 is about the biggest you could fit, but they are not common. There is such a thing as a Group 60, which is nearly identical to a Group 31, but even more rare than a 31. H7's are a good fit if a tad bit smaller. 27F's are not super common either, but also are a good fit. But they should have made the tray 14" wide to fit an H8. Or maybe also make a Senior Plus?
