Advance Adapters 712534 Features:

• This adapter plate assembly is used to adapt a GM Engine to the Jeep T176 4 manual transmission. The adapter plate is .875 in.� in length and is manufactured from 356-T6 heat treated aluminum alloy. Included in the adapter plate kit you will receive an adapter plate, 4.686 in.� bearing retainer, pilot bushing, seal, fastening hardware, and adapter instructions.

• Note: With our adapter plates, we utilize a new front bearing retainer to obtain proper bell housing alignment. Chevy adapter plates we use a small index of 4.686 in., (the larger index retainer, PN716078, can be substituted for the 5.125 in.� bell housing).
• Transmission
• The T-176 was used in CJs from 1980-1986 and other Jeep trucks from 1980-1987. The T-177 and T-178 were not used in CJs, only in other Jeep trucks.
• The T-176, T-177, and T-178 are medium duty Ford transmissions manufactured by Tremec. They have an aluminum case with the casting number 2604203. This transmission has a 1 1/8 in. 10 spline input shaft and a 23 spine output shaft. These transmissions are very similar except for gear ratios. These transmissions use the standard bolt pattern used by Ford transmissions.
• Clutch Linkage
• We offer a clutch linkage bracket for our adapter plate that adapters to the GM blocks and gives you several locations for mounting the pivot ball for the clutch linkage. This bracket is sold separately under PN716638.
• One additional option is our complete bellhousing that retains the stock clutch linkage, and adapts the Jeep transmission to the GM block which is PN712548.
