The aFe Power SCORCHER Module is designed to alter the pressure sensor signals to increase turbo boost to an optimum level throughout the entire RPM range. The result is a harmonious balance between power, throttle response and drivability. This module provides a hassle-free installation with no cutting, drilling or splicing required during the 30 minute installation time. Factory electronic accessories are not affected by installing the Scorcher module.
Sensor 2 Style:
The BMW N55 came with two types of TMAP/MAP Sensors. This Module accommodates the Sensor 2 style. The Sensor 2 TMAP/MAP sensor is identified by having a gray connector clip and no raised square located between the mounting bolt locations. See the illustration on this web page or on page 3 of the instruction manual for details. The TMAP sensor is located on the drivers side of the engine, mounted on the intake tube between the factory air box and the strut tower. Note: This information is critical to choosing the correct module for your vehicle.
