The soft copper gaskets are available in 3 thicknesses; installing thicker or thinner washers permits a racer to adjust the electrode's location when the spark plug is torqued in the cylinder head. Even when piston dome interference is not a factor, B&B spark plug washers provide a performance improvement by positioning the spark at the most desirable location for proper flame travel.
