We started with the OEM gear from Ford for its excellent metallurgy, then machined in keyways to allow you to offset the camshaft timing 4, 6, 8, or 10 degrees to dial in your camshaft or account for a locked phaser or run a fixed-gear cam conversion. The front face of the gear illustrates which keyway position to use for the desired camshaft event retardation, and the barrel of the gear is laser etched with new alignment marks that match the offset keyways. On installation, follow your manufacturer's guidelines for timing set installation, but use this gear and index the marks for your needs.
