Bolt on unit uses original holes for ease of mounting. Fits trucks measuring 20-5/8 in. from engine to center holes on transmission mount.
Installation Instructions for ES-1166 Transmission Mount for Turbo 700 for 1940-1947 Chevy Pickup
Step 1. Remove original crossmember and replace with new Chassis Engineering Crossmember. Exercise care in the removal of the rivets as these holes will be used again.
Ream drill the original holes to 3/8 in. and bolt the new crossmember in place.
Step 2. Tighten all bolts.
With the ES-1166 2 space plates are provided, install one per side between frame and square flange of crossmember.
