Chassis Engineering SB-3540R Features:

SB-3540R Rear Sway Bar for 1935-1940 Ford. This rear sway bar fits Chassis Engineering rear end kits for the 1935-1940 Fords. This is an excellent way to improve the handling and overall driveability of your street rod. Sway bars work best when you have both the front and rear bars. All linkage and mounting furnished.

Installation Instructions for Rear Swaybar for 1935-40 Ford using parallel leaf suspension

Note: Use of Chassis Engineering rear end mounting kit (AS-2016C, link) recommended.

Step 1: Remove the two lower rear rivets that connect the rear crossmember to the frame.

Drill holes out to 3/8 in.. Hold frame brackets in place and mark second hole (Note: a shock reinforcement plate may interfere with the next hole). Drill hole to 3/8 in.. Hole can be misaligned to clear.

Step 2: Place €œD€ shaped rubber bushing on bar, in-line with the mounting holes. Install the frame brackets over bushing. Bolt through brackets and frame.

Step 3: All Chassis Engineering kits after Aug 1st, 1982 will have bottom sway bar mount as a standard feature. Earlier kits should be changed. On other applications not using Chassis Engineering lower shock plates, a 5/8 in. hole must be located 47 3/4 in. apart on brackets.

Step 4: Assemble linkage as shown below. Do not over-tighten.
